I’m so excited and blessed to say that January 2016 marks the 1st year anniversary for Creatively Homespun! What a year it has been! I have learned so much, pushed myself to learn some more, met some amazing new bloggy friends, surpassed hard goals, and created a self-confidence within myself that I know came straight from this experience.

A Vintage Christmas Dining Room

Hey Everyone! Tiffany from over at The House Down the Lane gathered together over 20 bloggers to partake in a “One Room” Holiday Home Blog Hop! And of course, ’tis the season… I jumped right on that!

The Gift Giver: A Children’s Book Review

Our home is always welcoming new children’s books. We love to snuggle up and read together, and we do this quite often! So when I was asked to give a review of a new children’s story, I was so ecstatic! And it’s not just any story, but a Christmas story… and even better.. A Christmas story about Christ! The Gift Giver, by Jacob Haslem (Author), Elissa Weaver (Illustrator), Nick Allen (Contributor) was actually a good fit here in our home.

Home For Christmas: DIY Wooden Candy Cane Candlesticks

I’ve been waiting to post about this DIY project for weeks now, and when I found out about this… I just knew it was perfect timing.

I love the simplicity and the festivity in these DIY Wooden Candy Cane Candlesticks! They can sure bring some cheer to a space, and even though they aren’t real flames, some warmth to a room. These would be great as gifts, or even just a simple project for your own!

This DIY is pretty easy as long as you have the access to the tools that you need. Here is the simple HOW TO:

2015 Holiday Home Tour Blog Hop

This week I’m partnering up with some incredible bloggers to show how we get our homes ready for the Christmas holiday! Each blogger carries their own uniqueness, and some are quite frankly BREATHTAKING!

I have to be honest when I say I’m a little nervous! We moved to our home in July this year, and even though its been a few months… We are still getting used to it! We are taking our time, room by room, to create a space that says, “home”. However, we still don’t have it finished! So when it came time to decorate, I wasn’t sure where to start! We don’t even have many things on the walls yet! *GULP*.

But.. with  no further adieu. Here is our home!

A Very Vintage Holiday Mantel

As may of you know by now, I have  been participating in #AVeryVintageHoliday Instagram Challenge for the past few weeks. This week we are incorporating a Very Vintage Holiday Mantel. I was  pretty stoked for this one because having just moved recently, the excitement of decorating for the holiday’s in a new home is pretty exhilarating!

I know that the Elf on the Shelf is something that has well surpassed the welcome with some homes. However, our little ones are just now at the age where it is still a fun tradition to wake up every morning to find our elf, Zippy!

This will be our 3rd Holiday Season for Zippy to be with us! He really finds some crazy scenarios and sometimes he even has meaningful things to say. All in all… he is something that even mom has enjoyed!
